The Creative Leadership Lab

For creative educators and leaders who want their work to feel meaningful again — not just survivable.

You didn’t enter this field to become a manager of logistics or a container for everyone else’s emotions.

You entered it because something in the room once woke you up —

the spark, the connection, the feeling that your work could actually shape people.

If that feeling has been buried under pressure, pace, and exhaustion,

you’re not alone — and you’re not the problem.

Inside the Creative Leadership Lab, you’ll learn a clear, human-centered system that helps you:

• steady the emotional temperature of the room

• communicate in ways that build trust instead of tension

• create a culture where people feel safe, creative, and committed

• lead with clarity, artistry, and purpose — even when the stakes are high

This isn’t about doing more.

It’s about leading in a way that brings you back to yourself.

If you’re ready to feel grounded, capable, and creatively awake again —

you’re in the right place.

The Hardest Part of Directing Isn’t Directing.

Empty outdoor stage with a metal truss structure, set up near the beach at sunset, with trees in the background.

You know how to teach.

You know how to create.

You know how to bring a story to life.

That part has never been the problem.

The real challenge is the part no syllabus, no degree, and no PD ever covered:

leading real humans in real time —

in rooms full of emotion, pressure, and constant change —

while still trying to make something meaningful.

You didn’t become an educator to drown in logistics.

You didn’t fall in love with theatre to become everyone’s emotional shock absorber.

You stepped into this work because something in the process felt alive.

Because rehearsal made you feel like your time — and your talent — mattered.

Because at your core, you’re an artist.

And yet:

No one taught you how to stay steady when the room is unraveling.

No one taught you how to lead without absorbing everything.

No one taught you how to protect your creativity

while carrying the invisible weight of the whole space.

So you’ve been surviving on instinct, heart, and sheer passion —

but that was never meant to be your only strategy.

You’re not the problem.

You’ve simply never been given a system that protects your energy, your vision, and your joy.

Introducing The Creative Leadership Lab

A new kind of training for educators, directors, and creative leaders.

A transformational leadership framework that helps educators and creative leaders:

Stay steady even when the room is unraveling

  • Communicate in ways that build trust—not shutdown

Turn overwhelm into clear, confident structure

Protect your creativity while managing real humans

Lead with clarity and calm in moments that once felt impossible

This isn’t another workshop.

This isn’t classroom management.

This isn’t theatre PD.

This is the training every creative leader needed—

but no one ever built.

Because directing isn’t just blocking and notes.

Teaching isn’t just lesson plans and pacing guides.

Your real work happens in the moments between the moments:

the behaviors, the emotions, the pressure,

the hundred tiny decisions you make while still trying to lead something meaningful.

No one taught you that.

Until now.

This Is For You If…

A group of young students sitting on a curved stone ledge listening to a woman giving a tour or lecture outside near a large historic stone building.

• your rehearsals or classrooms feel chaotic no matter how carefully you prepare

• you’re the one holding everyone else together — at the cost of your own energy

• you love your work, but the weight of it has started to dull your joy

• you’re an artist at heart, stuck spending your days putting out fires

• you want to lead with clarity and confidence — without losing your creativity

• you were trained to teach and direct, but no one taught you to lead humans under pressure

• you’re ready to feel inspired again — not drained

Most of all:

You want to be the kind of leader who creates safety, brilliance, and magic —

without sacrificing yourself to do it.

Why the Lab Works

People watching a performance at an outdoor stage with a large bubble show, surrounded by trees and a clear sky.

Most programs teach tips, tactics, and information.

This Lab rewires the way you lead.

You’ll learn a leadership system shaped by:

20 years directing in high-pressure, emotionally charged environments

• communication tools grounded in psychology and rehearsal-room practice

• strategies that keep you steady instead of reactive

• structures that prevent chaos rather than clean it up

• the creative clarity artists need to lead sustainably

You don’t need more grit.

You need a system that supports the kind of leader you already are:

intuitive, artistic, human.

A system that shows you how to lead with

strength and softness, structure and creativity, calm and authority —

without losing the magic that made you fall in love with this work in the first place.

Meet the Creator

Black and white photo of a large group of young girls and a few adults in costume, posing outdoors in a park with trees and benches in the background.

For nearly twenty years, I’ve led creative humans through some of the most emotionally charged, high-pressure environments on earth — from outdoor productions in Central Park to massive community shows on the Gulf Coast.

I’ve directed thousands of students, collaborated with national arts organizations like Disney Theatrical Group, Music Theatre International, Camp Laurel, and the Alabama State Council on the Arts, and built a theatre company known for producing large-scale work with heart, clarity, and soul.

But here’s the truth:

None of my training —

not college,

not professional development,

not mentorship —

ever taught me how to lead humans in the moments that mattered most.

No one taught me how to stay calm when the room started to unravel.

How to communicate in ways that build trust instead of shutdown.

How to hold an entire room of emotion without losing my creativity.

So I built the system I wish someone had given me:

A system that blends psychology, artistry, emotional regulation, communication strategy, and the lived wisdom of rehearsal culture.

A system that helps leaders stay grounded, clear, creative, and deeply human — even under pressure.

That system became The Creative Leadership Lab.
